As August came to a close, we kicked off the 2024 Salon Privé, held on the stunning lawns of Blenheim Palace in Oxford. This prestigious event brought together a remarkable collection of hypercars, supercars, classic cars, and restored vehicles. Our mission was clear: cover all four days of the event, produce live social content daily, and wrap up each day with a highlight video.
The Plan
Salon Privé is one of the world’s most renowned car concours events, and twice a year it showcases these exceptional vehicles at the Royal Chelsea Hospital and Blenheim Palace. Against a backdrop of roaring engines and flowing champagne, our goal was to capture the essence of the event — the cars, the people, and the parades. Our aim was to engage the audience throughout the event, increasing social media interaction and driving ticket interest through dynamic, viral content.
Overcoming Challenges
Filming an event of this scale isn’t without its challenges, and Salon Privé was no exception. With a team of two videographers, two editors, and a social media manager, we set out on a four-day marathon of shooting the event’s key moments. A blend of candid and staged shots helped us capture the vibrant, elegant atmosphere, with a focus on people enjoying the cars, food, and drinks.
Some moments naturally unfolded in front of the camera, but we also engaged with attendees to set up shots that truly reflected the glamorous spirit of Salon Privé. In the editing room, our editors were on a tight schedule, creating engaging social content throughout each day, along with daily wrap-up videos that captured the event’s highlights. The key question: how could we deliver fresh, captivating content in such a quick turnaround?
With over 1.1 million organic views on Instagram, our team rose to the challenge and exceeded expectations.
All the Gear
To bring the event to life on screen, we used cutting-edge gear, including the Sony A7SIII, DJI Ronin Gimbals, and DJI Drones. This allowed us to capture dynamic, high-quality footage that matched the grandeur of the event.
The Production Team
Our talented crew included Josh Milsom (Videographer), Lucas Haynes (Videographer/Editor), Tom Miller (Editor/Videographer), Kyle Griffiths (Editor), and Kayleigh Stephenson (Social Media Manager/Content Creator). This was our biggest team yet at Salon Privé, and the volume and quality of content we produced showcased our teamwork and collaboration.
Achieving the Vision
Before the event, we knew we had the skills to create standout content for Salon Privé, but we were focused on pushing the boundaries of creativity. We incorporated more dynamic drone shots, added editorial flourishes, and layered in satisfying sound and visual effects during post-production to keep the content engaging.
Client Feedback
The response from Salon Privé was overwhelmingly positive. They were thrilled with the content we created over the four days and impressed with the level of engagement we generated on social media.
Conclusion
This year’s Salon Privé was our most successful event project to date. With over 1.1 million views and incredibly positive feedback, we couldn’t be prouder of the team's hard work and creativity. It was a memorable project, and we’re already excited for what 2025 will bring.
